Kids Activities
Ogden Pagan Pride is pleased to announce some fabulous children's activities that the whole family can take part in. Kids can take their pick of one or more of the following activities: Coloring. coloring contest with prizes, making head wreaths, fantastic face painting, a story circle, and creating unique prayer flags to fly throughout the event. There will be three sessions of children's activities offered throughout the day.
We value the children of the community and the wonderful knowledge and spirit that accompanies them. While we facilitate these activities, we expect each child's parent or responsible guardian to accompany them at all times. Our Children's Workshop Coordinators are not babysitters, and are not responsible for the children attending the event.
A special thanks to our Children's Workshop Coordinators and volunteers, Julie, Katie, Heather, Carlee, and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden. We're so happy that you stepped up to provide meaningful activities for our youth!
* Coloring will be available all day! Crayons and Sheets will be provided and available.
* Coloring Contest: Entries into the Coloring Contest will be accepted until 5:30 PM on the day of the event. Coloring contest sheets will be available at the children's workshop area under the pavilion. Prizes will be awarded at 6:30 PM, right before the closing ritual and butterfly release.
* Head Wreaths: Kids and their families can make their own head wreaths to be worn throughout the day. This is a wonderful way of being creative and connecting with nature.
* Face Painting: Kids can choose their own unique item to be beautifully painted on their face (or arms or legs!!). All paints are FDA accepted, Snazaroo brand face paint - safe and hypo-allergenic.
* Story Circle: We're looking forward to sharing some stories with you and your family. Join us as we settle down and enjoy stories by Mercer Meyer, Neal Donald Walsch, Schim Schimmel, and some original stories of our own!
* Prayer Flags: Children and their families are welcome to participate in making their own beautiful wish for our community and the world. Focus on something you want for the community and/or the world, and create your own flag with pictures or words on your individual prayer flag. Each flag will be hung around the park for the celebration, where your good thoughts, wishes and prayers will be carried on the winds and throughout the world and universe.
* Butterfly Release: The closing ritual of the day will include a breath taking butterfly release. Children will have priority in the distribution of the butterflies to be released during the ritual. We hope to have you join us for this beautiful and very meaningful celebration of UNITY IN COMMUNITY!
